Circle B’s bred heifers are the F-1 cross that we have produced year after year in our crop of calves. They have been bred to Black Angus bulls from the highly regarded Gartner-Denowh Angus Ranch. The heifers were A I’d with semen from GDAR Justified 914 and then turned out with black angus bulls we purchased from Gartner-Denowh who is well known in the industry for leading the way in Black Angus genetics since 1950.

Almost 15 years ago, research was published stating that “The crossbred cow is the key to maximum beef production and profitability in a cow-calf operation since hybrid vigor in the cow produces phenomenal maternal advantages.” It went on to state these crossbred cows live longer, are less likely to be culled and produce more calves with stronger immune systems and higher weaning weights than their purebred counterparts. The researchers sum up the advantages of the crossbred cow by saying “animal scientists call this ‘the only free lunch’ in the cattle business.”
