Our Angus cows are selected specifically for our operation. Rob Prewitt and Tim Larson of Prewitt and Company, have a proven history with Circle B for their commitment to bringing us the best Angus commercial heifers year after year. Circle B develops these heifers into consistently sound, efficient cattle with great maternal instincts. We choose moderately framed, deep bodied, heifers with large capacity and low input requirements.
Our calf crop from these superior Angus cows when bred with Feddes Hereford bulls has proven that Circle B’s F-1 cross is the strongest and healthiest calf on the market.
A recent study conducted by Texas A&M University took a closer look at the impact that temperament and breed types can have on feedlot growth performance, feed efficiency, feeding behavior, carcass characteristics, and value in finishing beef heifers. They found that temperament plays an important role in efficiency, carcass quality, and palatability. In this study, calmer cattle gained faster and more efficiently in the feedlot and produced more valuable carcasses.
